ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE-BASED INFORMATION SYSTEMS SUPPORTING PROJECT RISK MANAGEMENT IN PROJECT-ORIENTED ORGANIZATIONS

Sep 2026 · Business Navigator · 0 citations

Abstract

The study examines information systems and artificial intelligence as tools for supporting project risk management in project-oriented organizations. A bibliometric analysis of 98 Scopus-indexed publications (2006–2026) using VOSviewer revealed rapid growth since 2020 and the interdisciplinary development of the field at the intersection of AI, information systems, project management, and risk management. Key AI applications across the riskmanagement cycle include machine learning and natural language processing for risk identification and prediction, digital twins for real-time monitoring, and AI-based decision support and explainable AI for risk mitigation and decision-making. The analysis highlights the integration of PMIS, ERP, BI, BIM, IoT, and digital twins into unified project data environments. Based on these findings, a conceptual framework integrating heterogeneous project data, AI analytics, real-time monitoring, and decision support is proposed.
