Abstract

Students in the middle school showed difficulties in practicing values such as respect, responsibility, solidarity, and empathy. These difficulties manifested as conflicts among classmates, limited cooperation, and challenges in maintaining a harmonious environment. The objective was to design collaborative pedagogical strategies to strengthen values in fifth-grade students at the "14 de Octubre Vicente Rocafuerte" Educational Unit. The methodology employed was based on a mixed-methods approach, integrating qualitative and quantitative methods. Using a non-experimental design, theoretical methods such as analysis-synthesis, inductive-deductive reasoning, and historical-logical analysis were used, along with empirical methods such as a Likert-scale self-assessment form and structured interviews. Thirty students were selected through non-probability sampling. The quantitative results show that between 43.33% and 56.67% of students exhibited infrequent practice of collaborative values and strategies. Qualitatively, the teacher notes that respect, responsibility, solidarity, and cooperation are not consistently demonstrated. In conclusion, the proposal will contribute to strengthening values among fifth-grade students, promoting participation, teamwork, and improved school climate.
