Strategic planning, risk management, and financial health in the real estate sector: a bibliometric analysis
Abstract
This study analyzes the relationships between strategic planning, risk management, and organizational financial health in the real estate sector through a bibliometric approach. A total of 431 scientific documents from the Scopus database, published between 1983 and 2026, were examined. The methodology combined descriptive and performance-based bibliometric techniques to assess scientific output and thematic evolution. The results show sustained and accelerating growth in production, particularly over the last decade. Publications are concentrated primarily in developed economies, although growing participation from developing regions is observed. A transition from traditional models toward more dynamic approaches incorporating risk management, sustainability, and financial resilience is also noted. In conclusion, the study provides a structured overview of the field’s intellectual landscape, identifying trends, influential contributions, and underdeveloped areas. It highlights the need for context- and sector-specific research to strengthen organizational sustainability and financial stability in volatile and uncertain environments.
