Abstract

Rising technological development in automobile industry urges for improving vehicle and driver safety. The paper introduces advanced driver assistance system prototype with ESP32-WROOM 32 microcontroller and internet of things. which is used to increase real-time decision making and gives situational awareness to the driver preventing from accident and other possible hazards in roads. The system is made on sensors to identify object detection, collision avoidance, lane keeping, blind spot detection. The sensors like LiDAR, RADAR, GPS module are integrated and processed by ESP32 microcontroller. The GPS module continuously monitors the vehicle’s location and records the data whenever a hazard or obstacle is identified. A dashboard interface observes the system status in real time and displays instructions to the drivers, such as collision warning, emergency brake activation and obstacle detection or no warning indication for driver to make known the no collision detected. Due to IoT connectivity the cloud-based data logging, remote diagnostics are easy. Compared to the traditional ADAS system, the results from the experimental analysis shows improved responsiveness, accuracy and cost effective which makes ADAS system more scalable and reliable towards autonomous driving systems.
