Agentic AI: A Paradigm Shift in Modern Engineering Systems
Abstract
Artificial Intelligence has evolved so much, and it still remains the main force behind three big areas of technology: automation, optimization, and data-based decision-making [1]. It has been a major contributor in the engineering area by enhancing the production processes and providing assistance in the analysis of complex systems among other ways. However, most of the conventional AI systems still operate within fixed boundaries; thus they rely a lot on human interaction for directing, approving of the decision and handling the exceptions [2]. This dependence severely limits their capacity in real-world scenarios, where the environment is continually changing and very difficult to forecast. But classical AI systems have not yet reached their full potential and need human supervision all the time [2]. Agentic AI is the new AI generation that takes over the thinking of the user, though still there will be a human to control the AI if it is necessary [3]. This new model not only allows for the production of intelligent cognitive agents but also gives them the power to set their own objectives, reason in a non-linear way, and change with the environment [4]. The present study is about the effect of Agentic AI in various engineering sectors such as the mechanical and software fields. The research team anticipates that the study will unravel the potential of Agentic AI as a crucial technology through which engineering applications will eventually be made available in the future.
