Flexible reconfiguration and intelligent scheduling of discrete manufacturing production lines in the context of Industry 5.0
Abstract
The Industry 5.0 demands flexibility, resilience, and human-centricity in manufacturing systems. To address the lengthy changeover times and complexities in discrete manufacturing, this study proposes a comprehensive flexible reconfiguration and intelligent scheduling framework to achieve production line optimization. This research investigates the construction of a three-dimensional flexible “equipment-process-organization” model to identify key reconfiguration indicators. Then, utilizing digital twin and edge computing technologies, a three-layer modular manufacturing unit is developed to achieve rapid functional reconfiguration and real-time monitoring.
