OIQADAM AI: DEVELOPMENT AND FUNCTIONAL TESTING OF AN EDUCATIONAL AI AGENT WITH A CONTEXT-ADAPTIVE HINT SYSTEM

TL;DR

The study demonstrates the technical feasibility of a pedagogically constrained AI agent but does not claim a proven improvement in learner independence without a separate controlled study with students.

Abstract

This paper presents the development and functional evaluation of OiQadam AI v0.2, an educational AI agent for school mathematics designed to preserve the learner's own reasoning rather than immediately provide a complete solution. Its pedagogical behaviour is configured through Personality, Rules, and Skills and is supported by a context-adaptive hint ladder together with Cognitive Pause, Teach Back, and Transfer Check mechanisms. The prototype was implemented in the ASI:One / Agentverse ecosystem and examined through 11 functional, subject-specific, and stress- test scenarios. Testing confirmed several mentor -mode functions while also exposing limitations of the generative approach, including imprecise error diagnosis, role-override vulnerability, ambiguous mathematical notation, and dependence of document retrieval on source format. Detected failures were retained as research evidence and used to revise the agent configuration. The study demonstrates the technical feasibility of a pedagogically constrained AI agent but does not claim a proven improvement in learner independence without a separate controlled study with students.

AI Agents Can Now Navigate and Complete LMS Tasks: A Call for Pedagogical Innovation

Autonomous artificial intelligence (AI) agents can now log into a learning management system, read course materials, and complete unproctored, asynchronous assessed work end-to-end with no student involvement. We document that capability and trace its consequences for assessment validity. Three demonstrations on a live...

CRITERION-GUIDED AI ARCHITECTURE FOR LEARNING SUPPORT AND PRELIMINARY STUDENT ASSESSMENT

This paper presents a pilot evaluation of a criterion-guided human-in-the-loop architecture for an intelligent educational system that supports learning and preliminary assessment of students’ written and oral responses. Instead of assigning a final score directly, the system combines relevant context, formalized crite...

Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education From Automation to Responsible Augmentation

Artificial intelligence (AI) is often presented as a sequence of increasingly capable tools, yet educational outcomes do not rise automatically with model capability. This narrative review argues that the decisive variable is alignment: AI produces durable educational value when its affordances are aligned with pedagog...
