Sep 2026 · Journal of Educators Online · 0 citations

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) applications have driven education toward more adaptive and personalized learning experiences and environments. By offering educators tools to customize learning paths, adapt resources to students’ needs, and provide tailored feedback, AI applications are able to boost student academic achievement and motivation. This study seeks to assess the impact of an AI-enhanced learning approach on students’ academic achievement and motivation. We employed a quasi-experimental method for this study with a total of 54 sixth-grade pupils at a private bilingual school in Barka, Oman split into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group was taught using AI applications and the control group was taught using the Moodle learning management system. Results of the study indicate that the AI-powered approach significantly increased students’ academic achievement (p < .05) and motivation (p < .01), with notable gains in attention, confidence, and relevance. ’The findings of the study highlight the significant potential of AI to reshape learners’ experiences and enhance learning and motivation by providing adaptive and personalized learning. Given the small sample size and study environment, the generalizability of the results is limited. Future studies should investigate the scalability of AI-powered learning aids across different educational environments.
