iAIR Hub: AI-Driven Disaster Preparedness and Response for Sustainable Infrastructure
Abstract
The iAIR Hub project centers on leveraging AI and real-time data to enhance disaster resilience, particularly within underserved communities, through a focus on sustainable infrastructure and community-centered emergency response. The platform integrates a structured knowledge base—comprising emergency plans, protocols, and historical records—with live data from curated sources like weather feeds, environmental sensors, and public safety updates. This hybrid system enables precise, context-aware responses, empowering communities and local authorities to manage disaster scenarios with actionable, timely insights. The AI-driven iAIR Hub addresses the unique challenges faced by underserved areas, emphasizing sustainable infrastructure strategies designed to support long-term resilience. By optimizing resource allocation, predicting disaster impacts, and tailoring responses based on specific location and time factors, the platform assists stakeholders in making data-informed decisions that align with sustainable recovery efforts. Additionally, the iAIR Hub fosters a replicable model of resilience that can be adapted for other regions or countries with similar needs, underscoring the potential of AI to contribute to global disaster preparedness.Through this integrated approach, the iAIR Hub not only aids in immediate emergency response but also supports a sustainable foundation for future disaster preparedness. This project, a collaboration between the Georgia Tech Research Institute and regional partners, aims to build resilience within vulnerable communities, establishing a model of disaster response that is both adaptable and centered on the needs of the people it serves.
