Grid Stability under Distributed Generation and Energy Storage Coordination
Abstract
This study analyzes the impact of distributed generation on grid stability and the optimization of energy storage technology. Distributed generation mainly based on wind and solar power has advantages such as being clean and low-carbon, and close to the load. However, the intermittency, randomness and volatility of its output pose challenges to the power balance, voltage and frequency stability of the power grid. Research shows that the large-scale access of distributed generation can cause problems such as power fluctuations in the power grid, voltage over-limit and reduced system inertia. Energy storage technology, through functions such as energy storage and release, rapid power support, and virtual inertia response, can effectively smooth out power fluctuations, regulate voltage quality, and enhance frequency stability, providing a guarantee for the integration of a high proportion of new energy into the power grid. By analyzing the simulation data in the literature and combining the photovoltaic development case of the actual distribution network in Minhou, Fuzhou, this study verified the effect of energy storage in reducing power fluctuations and improving voltage and frequency performance, providing theoretical references and practical guidance for the safe and stable operation of the new power system.
