Improving Reading Literacy Competence in Non-Literary Texts through Digital Flipbook-Based Instructional Materials Using the Reading Response Group Strategy Among Middle School Students
Abstract
This activity aims to improve the literacy competence of reading non-literary texts of junior high school students through the application of strategies. Reading Response Group (RRG) assisted by digital flipbooks. The implementation of activities includes needs analysis, design and development of teaching materials, validation, and implementation and evaluation of learning. The implementation method uses a development approach with the ADDIE model consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The activities were carried out in Indonesian language learning for eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Maospati, with data collection through observation, interviews, questionnaires, documentation, and tests. The results showed that the teaching materials obtained an average score of 4.39 with a feasibility percentage of 87.6% and a very feasible category. The implementation of RRG assisted by flipbooks increased students' engagement, understanding, analytical skills, and critical and reflective thinking.
