Abstract

The rapid growth of smart transportation demands reliable systems for real-time vehicle monitoring, security, and data management. This project presents an IoT-based vehicle tracking system that uses an ESP32 microcontroller integrated with a GPS module to obtain accurate real-time location information. The system continuously collects latitude, longitude data and transmits them to the Adafruit IO cloud platform for live visualization and storage. A route history logging feature enables users to review previous travel paths, improving fleet supervision and travel analysis. For security, a remote server mechanism allows authorized users to lock or unlock vehicle access, while a buzzer alert provides immediate warning during unauthorized movement or suspicious activity. The proposed solution is low-cost, scalable, and suitable for personal as well as commercial applications. By combining cloud connectivity, embedded control, and real-time tracking, the system enhances safety, transparency, and efficient vehicle management.
