SPECIAL EDUCATION FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF INCLUSIVE EDUCATION: CHALLENGES AND DIVERGENCES IN THE BRAZILIAN CONTEXT
Abstract
This paper aimed to discuss the advances for special education in the perspective of inclusive education adopted to meet the demands of people with disabilities. Special education is a pedagogical proposal from the school, having as target audience the students with disabilities, global and specific developmental disorders, and with high abilities. To this end, a qualitative bibliographic and documental research is carried out. The results indicate that there have been advances in relation to educational policies with an inclusive perspective, considering that education with an inclusive perspective acts interdependently and/or in articulation with regular education. However, there are some issues related to the continuing education of teachers to work in inclusive education. In conclusion, the school should be inclusive in a dynamic that seeks to ensure access and permanence of all students, seeking to generate a cultural and social transformation in the adaptation of students with special needs.
