The Influence of Work-Life Balance and Organizational Culture on Job Satisfaction at YKP Bank BJB
Abstract
Employee job satisfaction is an important factor in maintaining organizational effectiveness, particularly in nonprofit organizations where employee motivation and organizational values may differ from those in profit-oriented institutions. This study aimed to examine the effects of work-life balance and organizational culture on employee job satisfaction at Yayasan Kesejahteraan Pegawai (YKP) Bank BJB. A quantitative causal-associative research design was employed, involving all 24 employees as respondents through a census sampling technique. Primary data were collected using structured questionnaires measured on a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4. The results showed that work-life balance had a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction (t = 5.116; p < 0.001), while organizational culture also had a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction (t = 2.912; p = 0.004). The structural model produced an R² value of 0.828, indicating that work-life balance and organizational culture explained 82.8% of the variance in job satisfaction. These findings demonstrated that employees’ ability to balance professional and personal responsibilities, combined with a supportive organizational culture, contributed substantially to job satisfaction. The study concluded that both factors should be prioritized in nonprofit human resource management strategies.
