It is indicated that digitalizing the role of funding officers can significantly enhance the competitiveness of Islamic rural banks in the digital era, while still upholding the values of Sharia and trust-based financial service principles.
Abstract
The rapid development of digital technology has driven financial institutions, including Islamic rural banks, to transform their work systems in order to improve operational efficiency and service quality. PT BPR Syariah Lantabur Tebuireng, as a pesantren-based financial institution, has also embraced innovation by digitalizing the role of funding officers, particularly in the context of proactive customer outreach services. This study aims to describe the implementation of funding officer digitalization through the use of the Collector application in supporting field-based fundraising activities. A qualitative descriptive approach was used, with data collected through semi-structured interviews, field observations, and internal documentation. The findings reveal that the Kolektor application facilitates funding officers in digitally recording visit data, accessing real-time customer information, and submitting reports to management more quickly and accurately. This digitalization not only improves work efficiency but also strengthens personal relationships with customers through more responsive service. Additionally, the application enhances transparency, performance monitoring, and strategic planning by management. The results of this study indicate that digitalizing the role of funding officers can significantly enhance the competitiveness of Islamic rural banks in the digital era, while still upholding the values of Sharia and trust-based financial service principles.
This descriptive qualitative study analyzes the implementation of the Regional Government Information System (SIPD) at BPKD Gowa Regency, its contribution to effective financial management, and the factors that support and hinder it through interviews and observations. The findings show that SIPD has been implemented comprehensively since 2025, covering everything from financial planning to reporting, and is further supported by features such as Electronic Signatures (TTE) and QRIS. The system is proven to enhance time efficiency, data accuracy, transparency, accountability, and real-time oversight. Primary supporting factors include strong leadership commitment, clear regulatory frameworks, routine technical guidance, and close coordination with central authorities. However, the implementation still faces notable obstacles, including heavy dependency on central server stability, a lack of formal training for system operators, data integration hurdles, and application feature limitations. Overall, SIPD plays a crucial role in optimizing regional financial management, though its ultimate success remains heavily dependent on infrastructure readiness and the competence of human resources.

The rapid growth of digital payment systems has transformed the functioning of public transportation services in India. The introduction of Unified Payments Interface (UPI) based ticketing in Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) represents a significant step towards digital transformation, operational efficiency, and financial transparency. The present study examines the impact of UPI-based ticketing on service efficiency, financial transparency, and passenger satisfaction in KSRTC. Primary data were collected from 200 KSRTC passengers through a structured questionnaire using purposive sampling. The study employed correlation analysis and regression analysis using SPSS software to examine the relationship between UPI-based ticketing variables and passenger perceptions. The findings indicate that digital ticketing contributes positively to operational efficiency, improves transparency in financial transactions, and enhances passenger satisfaction. The study concludes that UPI-based ticketing plays a crucial role in modernizing public transportation services and promoting cashless transactions. The findings provide valuable insights for policymakers and transport administrators seeking to strengthen digital governance and improve service efficiency in public transport systems.

The development of digital technology has compelled service-based businesses to adapt to more efficient management and service systems in order to maintain and enhance customer loyalty. However, many small-scale motorcycle workshops continue to face various challenges, including manual transaction recording, poorly integrated customer data management, and limited utilisation of digital technology in customer service delivery. This study aims to examine the implementation of digitalisation in management and service activities and its influence on improving customer loyalty at Polimandiri Motorcycle Workshop. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. The research informants consisted of the workshop owner, three employees, and ten active customers selected through purposive sampling based on their involvement in workshop operations and utilisation of the available services. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were subsequently analysed through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the phenomenon under investigation. The findings indicate that the implementation of digital systems for transaction recording, customer database management, and the use of business communication applications has generated positive impacts, including improved administrative efficiency, faster service delivery, and enhanced communication between the workshop and its customers. These improvements have created a more satisfying service experience, encouraging customers to return and continue using the workshop’s services. Therefore, this study concludes that the digitalisation of management and service delivery represents an effective strategic approach to enhancing customer loyalty in small-scale motorcycle workshops and has the potential to serve as a reference model for similar service businesses in adapting to the era of digital transformation.

This study examines the impact of digital transformation on organizational productivity within the public service sector, with particular attention to how the adoption of digital tools, systems, and platforms influences service delivery efficiency, employee performance, and overall institutional output. Public sector organizations, traditionally characterized by bureaucratic and paper-based processes, face increasing pressure to embrace digital solutions in order to improve responsiveness, transparency, and service delivery to citizens. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design, utilizing the administration of structured questionnaires as the sole instrument for data collection from management and staff within the organization studied. The questionnaire captured respondents' perceptions on key variables including e-governance adoption, digitization of administrative processes, staff digital competency, and productivity outcomes. Data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the chi-square test to establish the significance of the relationship between digital transformation initiatives and productivity outcomes. Findings reveal that digital transformation significantly enhances productivity through faster processing of records, improved inter-departmental communication, reduced bureaucratic bottlenecks, and enhanced accountability. However, the study also identifies challenges such as inadequate ICT infrastructure, low digital literacy among staff, and resistance to organizational change as factors limiting the full realization of digital transformation benefits. The study recommends sustained investment in ICT infrastructure and capacity-building programmes for public servants.

The ready digitalization of fiscal services has significantly changed banking operations and the way customers accomplish financial dealings. Digital payment services, in particular, have become essential for enhancing transaction efficiency, convenience, and financial inclusion. In Sri Lanka, the Bank of Ceylon (BOC), as the largest state-owned commercial bank, has introduced a range of digital payment solutions to backing the national transition to a cash-lite economy. Despite these efforts, customer awareness of such services is minimal. Government employees, who represent a substantial and strategically important segment of BOC’s clientele, display varying levels of understanding and familiarity with available digital payment options. This study examines the factors affecting customer awareness of BOC digital payment services among government employees in Sri Lanka. A quantitative research design was utilized, using primary data collected from a sample of 300 government employees providing a structured questionnaire based on convenience sampling. Customer awareness was modeled as a binary outcome variable, and binary logistic regression analysis was applied to identify its key determinants. The findings reveal that education level, monthly income, smartphone ownership, frequency of internet usage, prior experience with digital banking, and perceived usefulness have a statistically significant influence on awareness. Conversely, age and gender were not found to be significant predictors. The results suggest that awareness of digital payment services is designed more by technological exposure, experience, and perceived benefits than by basic demographic features. The study offers practical visions for bank managers and policymakers, emphasizing the importance of targeted awareness programs and digital literacy initiatives tailored to government employees. In addition, it contributes to the limited empirical literature on digital payment awareness in Sri Lanka and demonstrates the usefulness of binary logistic regression in analyzing awareness related outcomes.
