Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Dayak local wisdom motto “Adil Ka’ Talino, Bacuramin Ka’ Saruga, Basengat Ka’ Jubata” from the perspective of philosophy of science, particularly through ontological, epistemological, and axiological approaches. The motto functions not only as a social ethical guideline but also represents an integrated structure of knowledge encompassing human relations, transcendental values, and divine reality. This research employs a qualitative method with a hermeneutic-philosophical approach, emphasizing symbolic interpretation within cultural contexts and critical reflection on the construction of scientific knowledge. The findings reveal that Adil Ka’ Talino reflects the axiological dimension in the form of social justice ethics; Bacuramin Ka’ Saruga embodies the epistemological dimension by emphasizing divine reflection as a normative source of knowledge; while Basengat Ka’ Jubata represents the ontological dimension, affirming human existential dependence on transcendent reality. These results demonstrate that Dayak local wisdom holds significant potential as a foundation for contextual epistemology in the development of culturally rooted scientific knowledge. Therefore, this study contributes to the advancement of a more inclusive, integrative, and contextual philosophy of science in addressing the challenges of modern global knowledge systems.
