Online Learning Culture in Higher Education: Patterns of Smartphone Usage
Abstract
The objective of this study is to ascertain the utilization of smartphone-based online media in online general English courses. This study employs a qualitative methodology utilizing descriptive techniques. The data gathering instrument employs a questionnaire comprising both closed and open-ended inquiries, which are disseminated through the use of Google Forms. The findings of the research are as follows: Customized educational resources and technological aids, such as mobile applications, tailored to meet the specific requirements of students and consistently guided by lecturers, will prove efficacious in enhancing student achievement and fostering favourable learning results. There are several issues linked to E-learning. In the beginning, there is a lack of direct interaction between lecturers and students, as well as among students themselves. Furthermore, the absence of direct social interaction leads to students becoming reclusive. Moreover, students residing in rural regions will encounter challenges in accessing a stable internet connection, thereby impeding their engagement in the learning process.
