Abstract
The present study compares mental health awareness, help-seeking behaviour, and psychological resilience among university students. Mental health awareness helps students understand emotional problems, stress, anxiety, depression, and available support services. Help-seeking behaviour reflects students’ willingness to approach counsellors, teachers, friends, family members, or mental health professionals during psychological difficulties. Psychological resilience refers to the ability to cope with stress, recover from challenges, and maintain emotional balance. The study examines how awareness, attitudes, stigma, peer support, family background, academic pressure, and availability of counselling services influence students’ mental health practices. It also compares differences among university students on the basis of gender, course, residence, and socio-cultural background. The study highlights that better mental health awareness can improve help-seeking behaviour and strengthen psychological resilience. It emphasizes the need for mental health education, campus counselling services, stigma reduction, peer support programmes, and supportive university environments.
