Two Novel Energy Management Control Strategies for Distributed Energy Systems
Abstract
This article proposes two novel energy management control strategies for distributed systems: Power Specifications Optimization (PSO) and Power Trading Optimization (PTO). PSO supplies green energy to the load during the daytime and charges the storage system to reduce the use of the mains power. The regulation mechanism of PSO can easily meet the demands of the system load without repeatedly charging and discharging the battery, prolonging the life of the energy storage system (ESS). PTO uses the wholesale purchase price of electricity during the peak period to effectively dispatch the electricity in the distributed power grid. It also uses the price difference of electricity to maximize the amount of electricity sold. In addition, PTO maximizes the user’s income and uses the off-peak time to charge the ESSs so that the power of the ESSs can be maintained at a certain backup capacity for a long time. This article constructs a distributed system of about 700 kW, and MATLAB/Simulink is used to simulate and verify the feasibility of the two energy management control strategies.
