Evaluación de biomasa y cenizas de la Lemna minor mediante fertilización química y orgánica
Abstract
Due to the need to optimize resources in aquaculture production and animal feeding, this study analyzed the effect of fertilization on duckweed (Lemna minor), evaluating whether the use of additional nutrients simultaneously maximizes its physical yield and mineral quality. To this end, a culture medium with optimal environmental conditions was ensured, and three treatments were applied under a controlled design: a chemical fertilizer, an organic biofertilizer, and a control group. The results demonstrated that the fertilizers did not induce an additional increase in the amount of dry biomass compared to the control, confirming that the plant naturally regulates its development by utilizing only indispensable resources. However, the bromatological analysis revealed that physical volume does not align with nutritional richness; the control group achieved the lowest concentration of minerals, whereas the organic fertilizer drastically optimized total ash accumulation in the plant tissue. It is concluded that an inversely proportional relationship exists between physical volume and mineral richness in L. minor, positioning the organic fertilizer as the most viable option when seeking a high concentration of nutrients
