Abstract

This study proposes an advanced configuration of a hybrid energy storage system (HESS) designed to address the variability of renewable energy generation. The research focuses on the combined utilization of photovoltaic and wind resources, considering both daily and seasonal fluctuations. A dual-storage approach, integrating electrochemical batteries with supercapacitors, is developed and evaluated through numerical modeling and simulation. The operational strategy is optimized to enhance system responsiveness and long-term energy balancing. The results indicate that the proposed hybrid storage architecture improves supply stability, minimizes short-term power deviations, and increases overall system efficiency. The approach is particularly suitable for decentralized energy applications, contributing to the reliable integration of renewable energy in rural and remote regions.
