Extração de quantitativos para orçamento de obras: comparação entre o processo tradicional e o processo BIM

Sep 2026 · Revista de Arquitetura IMED · 0 citations

Abstract

Although the construction industry is fundamental to the global economy, the sector still resists the adoption of innovative technologies, such as Building Information Modeling (BIM). This article aimed to compare traditional and BIM methods of quantitative extraction, highlighting their particularities, benefits and limitations. The methodology adopted was a case study applied to a residential development with 24 housing units in Paulista – PE, in which the quantities were extracted and compared using both methods. In the traditional flow, data was collected manually from 2D drawings and spreadsheets, while in BIM, it was necessary to remodel the projects in Revit software for automated extraction. The results showed that the BIM flow was more efficient and accurate, with a lower error rate and greater traceability of information, despite requiring more initial time due to modeling. BIM has significant potential to optimize budgeting and cost management processes in construction, but its effectiveness depends on technical training and projects originally designed using this methodology.
