Abstract

Building Information Modelling (BIM) is an innovative process that enables the creation and management of digital models for building and infrastructure projects, thereby improving collaboration, efficiency, and accuracy throughout the project lifecycle. Research on the implementation of lightweight steel roof frames for the Tanjung Jaya Public Health Center construction project in Tanjungjaya District, Tasikmalaya Regency, West Java, demonstrates that BIM application offers several significant advantages. This study employed a quantitative method, using primary data obtained from field observations and interviews, as well as secondary data such as Detailed Engineering Designs (DED), Estimated Budget Plans (RAB), and project schedules. The application of BIM, particularly through Autodesk Revit software, facilitated a more systematic and structured grouping of information, enhancing material usage efficiency and minimizing waste. Revit allows for more accurate material planning and management, reducing the potential for errors and material wastage. The budget estimate generated by Revit was recorded at Rp. 59,804,288.00, which is 14% lower than the project document's RAB estimate of Rp. 69,685,800.00, resulting in a cost difference of Rp. 9,881,571.60. This difference indicates that BIM can provide a more efficient cost estimation compared to traditional methods, such as the Analysis of Unit Prices of Work (AHSP). This study emphasizes that BIM not only improves information management but also contributes to overall project efficiency, making it an essential tool in modern construction.
