This review synthesizes current knowledge on the role of the circadian system in mineral nutrition in plants and emphasizes that aligning crop fertilization regimes with plant biological timing may enhance soil resource use.
This work uncovers a mechanism by which the plant circadian clock directly coordinates rhizosphere microbial functions to optimize N acquisition, thus providing a tractable strategy for sustainable crop production.

Photoperiod, the duration of the daily light phase, is a key seasonal signal that shapes vegetative growth in plants. While its role in controlling the transition to flowering has been extensively characterised, the mechanisms through which photoperiod modulates processes such as hypocotyl elongation, leaf expansion, r...
The circadian clock synchronises plant physiology with environmental oscillations to promote plant fitness. The commonly-used methods for rhythm monitoring in dicots include rhythmic leaf movement tracking and luciferase-based imaging. For monocots, however, the leaf erectness makes these methods ineffective. Leveragin...

Circadian rhythms allow plants to regulate internal processes to align with daily rhythms in the environment. Comparing circadian clocks across environments is essential because latitude-dependent variation in light and temperature imposes distinct selection pressures that shape the evolution and function of circadian...

Light occupies a singular position in plant biology because it supplies the energy for photosynthetic carbon gain while simultaneously providing information about time, season, canopy proximity, spatial orientation and environmental change. These energetic and informational functions are sensed across different scales...

Independent of the suprachiasmatic nucleus, peripheral clocks can be strongly entrained by dietary signals. Although feeding time has been widely studied, the effects of food quality-particularly nutrient availability and stress-on peripheral circadian entrainment and metabolic regulation remain less understood. We dev...
