TL;DR

The "tap-and-go" mechanism effectively reduces the attendance process time to 2–3 seconds per member, significantly faster than the previous manual method, and the Telegram Bot API successfully sends real-time attendance notifications to the church administrators, while the local feedback indicators provide clear validation for the congregation.

Abstract

The manual attendance recording in church congregations often causes inefficiency, long queues, and high risk of data loss or human error. This study aims to design and implement an automated attendance system based on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) integrated with real-time Telegram notifications for the GSJK Tlogosari Congregation in Semarang. The Research and Development (R&D) method was used, involving hardware design using an ESP32 microcontroller, RC522 RFID module, LCD, LEDs, and buzzer, as well as software development using the Arduino IDE and Telegram Bot API. Black Box testing was conducted to verify the functional aspects, reading distance, and notification delivery speed. The results indicate that the system operates successfully with high accuracy. The "tap-and-go" mechanism effectively reduces the attendance process time to 2–3 seconds per member, significantly faster than the previous manual method. The Telegram Bot API successfully sends real-time attendance notifications to the church administrators, while the local feedback indicators (LED, Buzzer, LCD) provide clear validation for the congregation. The system is highly dependent on Wi-Fi stability; however, it has proven to be an effective solution for modernizing church administrative services based on Internet of Things (IoT) technology.

Implementasi Internet of Things pada Sistem Absensi Mahasiswa Berbasis RFID dengan Monitoring Data Real-Time

The development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology supports the implementation of automated student attendance systems to address limitations in attendance recording, data recapitulation, and real-time monitoring. This study aims to implement a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)-based student attendance system integrated with IoT. The Prototype method was used, consisting of requirement analysis, system design, implementation, and testing. The system utilizes an RFID Reader RC522, NodeMCU ESP8266, HTTP Request communication, PHP API, and MySQL database. RFID data is transmitted through a Wi-Fi network and displayed on a web-based dashboard. Testing with 10 trials resulted in a 100% success rate for UID reading, data transmission, student validation, attendance data storage, and dashboard visualization. The average response time from card detection to data display on the dashboard was 1.82 seconds. These results indicate that the system can support real-time IoT-based student attendance monitoring.

Sistem Keamanan Loker Berbasis Verifikasi Wajah dan Notifikasi Telegram di Ponpes Baitussyakirin

The security of personal storage in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) often faces challenges due to the vulnerabilities of conventional locker locking systems, which are prone to lost or duplicated manual keys. This study aims to design and implement a smart locker security system (Smart Lock) utilizing biometric-based face verification technology and automated notifications. The research method applied is Research and Development (R&D) with an iterative Prototyping model, conducted at Pondok Pesantren Ta'limil Qur'an Baitussyakirin, Kendal. The system is built by integrating the ESP32-CAM microcontroller, a servo motor as the locking actuator, and the Telegram API platform for two-way wireless communication. The experimental results indicate that the face verification system achieves a 100% accuracy rate under bright lighting conditions and successfully rejects all unregistered faces. The integration with the Telegram Bot is highly responsive, yielding an average notification latency of under 2 seconds for locker activities. Furthermore, the remote control feature via the /buka command proved to be an effective emergency mitigation function when the camera sensor experienced reading failures under total darkness. Overall, this prototype system is viable and reliable for enhancing real-time locker monitoring and security.

Perancangan Sistem Monitoring dan Penghitung Barang pada Conveyor Mini Berbasis IoT Menggunakan ESP32 dan Sensor Inframerah Terintegrasi Telegram dan Web

This research aims to design and implement a monitoring and item counting system on a mini conveyor based on the Internet of Things (IoT) using an ESP32 microcontroller and an E18-D80NK infrared sensor integrated with a web server and Telegram. The system was developed to overcome manual counting problems that may cause calculation errors and delays in information delivery. The method used is system design and development, comprising literature study, hardware and software design, system implementation, and system testing. The hardware consists of the ESP32 as the main controller, two E18-D80NK infrared sensors as object detectors for finished and reject items, a mini conveyor as the simulation medium, a DC motor as the driver, and an I2C LCD as the local display. The system detects objects passing the conveyor, processes the data with the ESP32 to count items automatically, and displays the results on the LCD while transmitting them to the web server and Telegram in real time via WiFi. The test results show that the system detects objects and counts items with good accuracy, displays data in real time through the website, and sends notifications through Telegram. Therefore, the designed system can serve as a prototype of an IoT-based monitoring and counting system on a mini conveyor.
