Transformation of global transport and logistics chains under the influence of geopolitical fragmentation
Abstract
In the context of systemic geopolitical division, the familiar architecture of international exchanges is undergoing an irreversible transformation. The study assesses the dynamics of the restructuring of cargo flows. In comparison with earlier concepts, the emphasis is placed on the vulnerability of “narrow infrastructural bottlenecks” of global shipping. It is noted that the crisis of traditional transoceanic arteries has provoked the accelerated development of secure, politically loyal routes. The practical potential of the “North–South” corridor and the Northern Sea Route, which demonstrate growth in traffic volumes, is analyzed. It is summarized that the transition to a paradigm of multimodal redundancy and the introduction of digital integration at customs crossings will make it possible to mitigate the risks of macroeconomic uncertainty. The adaptability of infrastructure networks today serves as the main criterion for the survival of trading entities.
