Post-ASCO 2026: resident-led highlights of the most clinically relevant studies in genitourinary oncology.
Abstract
The 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting presented important advances in genitourinary oncology. During a resident-led Post-ASCO GU 2026 meeting supervised by genitourinary oncology experts, clinically relevant studies were selected and critically discussed. This report reviews PROTEUS and TALAPRO-3 in prostate cancer; RAMPART and the KEYNOTE-564 circulating tumor DNA analysis in renal cell carcinoma; and POTOMAC, EV-302/KEYNOTE-A39, EV-303, and NEXUS-01 in urothelial carcinoma. These studies highlight the growing roles of perioperative systemic therapy, biomarker-guided treatment, antibody-drug conjugates, and patient-reported outcomes. Their clinical implications vary according to study design and evidence maturity: some reinforce established standards, whereas others support potential future strategies or remain hypothesis-generating. Although its educational impact was not formally assessed, the initiative provided a structured setting for discussing and critically appraising emerging congress evidence.
