Analysis of the Influence of Job Satisfaction and Work Engagement on Organizational Citizenship Behavior Among Construction Company Employees
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the influence of Job Satisfaction and Work Engagement on Organizational Citizenship Behavior among employees in Construction Companies. The focus of this study is based on the characteristics of the construction industry which is dynamic and demands employee cooperation for the success of a project. The methodology used is quantitative with an explanatory survey approach. The study population was 150 employees working in construction companies in Jakarta. Data were collected through a questionnaire adapted from the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES), the Job Satisfaction scale and the OCB scale, then analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4 software. The results showed that job satisfaction has a positive effect on work engagement. Work engagement is also proven to have an effect on OCB. However, job satisfaction does not have a significant effect on OCB. This finding implies that satisfied employees will first feel engaged, then employees will show OCB. Practically, management needs to pay attention to factors that fulfill work needs and the work environment to encourage OCB behavior in employees.
