Abstract
Cornsilk flies (Diptera: Ulidiidae) are major pests negatively impacting production of sweet corn production throughout warm temperate and tropical areas in the Americas. Here we report on a species of parasitoid wasp that attacks and kills Euxesta eluta Loew, a major pest of corn. Previous to this work, this parasitoid, Euxestaphaga argentinensis Gallardo, was only known from Argentina. While we are not sure when this species arrived in North America, it very likely represents a case of unintentional biocontrol. As this new record will likely impact biological control of E. eluta and other corn silk flies, we herein provide an updated diagnosis of external morphology as well as authoritative DNA barcode sequence.
Leucinodes orbonalis Guenée, 1854 is a major internal feeder of solanaceous crops in the Indo-Malayan region and an economically important quarantine pest. During field surveys conducted in September 2025 in Arunachal Pradesh, India, fruit-boring larvae were observed on Solanum aethiopicum Linnaeus. Infested fruits wer...

Cannibalism among Toxorhynchites larvae is frequently reported and is generally associated with resource limitation and high population density. This study aimed to describe the natural
aggregation of Toxorhynchites larvae in the absence of evidence of cannibalism. Twenty-six third-
