On complex fuzzy multisets

Abstract

This article proposes a mathematical structure called complex fuzzy multisets (CFMSs), which integrates the multiplicity feature of fuzzy multisets with the complex-valued membership grades of complex fuzzy sets. In this framework, each membership grade is expressed as reiφ, with r ∈ [0, 1] and φ ∈ [0, 2π), enabling simultaneous representation of membership intensity, phase information, and multiple occurrences of elements. We provide a formal definition of CFMSs and establish fundamental operations, including inclusion, complement, intersection, union, Cartesian product, rotation, and reflection. The algebraic analysis proves that CFMSs satisfy involution, idempotence, commutativity, associativity, distributivity, De Morgan's laws, and absorption, thereby forming a distributive lattice with an involution. Additionally, we define the image and inverse image of CFMSs under mappings. This work lays a rigorous foundation for further theoretical development and potential applications in multi-source data fusion, periodic signal processing, and reasoning under uncertainty with repeated observations.

HyperLattice-valued and SuperHyperLattice-valued Uncertain Sets with Decision Applications

Fuzzy set theory enriches classical sets by assigning to each element a graded membership in [0,1], thereby capturing partial inclusion and uncertainty. The notion of an Uncertain Set further abstracts this idea by allowing membership to take values in a general degree-domain, providing a unified language that subsumes...

Mathematical foundations, structural embeddings, and complement operations in hyperbolic fuzzy set theory

This paper presents a comprehensive study of Hyperbolic Fuzzy Sets (HyFS), a generalized fuzzy framework characterized by independent optimistic and pessimistic membership degrees constrained by a hyperbolic relation. We explore the embedding of q-Rung Orthopair Fuzzy Sets, (n, m)-Rung Orthopair Fuzzy Sets, and (n, m)-...

A Measure-Theoretic Derivation of Zadeh Fuzzy Logic

Zadeh fuzzy logic is normally introduced by assigning scalar membership degrees and postulating standard complement, minimum conjunction, and maximum disjunction. We derive this calculus from a strictly positive atomless normalized Boolean measure algebra. Equality of measure sends Boolean complement uniquely to $1-x$,...

Level-Density Functions and Cardinal Spectra in Lowen Fuzzy Topological Spaces

Classical level constructions extract an ordinary topology from a fuzzy topology at one threshold, but a single level does not measure how the cardinal complexity of dense sets changes as the threshold varies. Motivated by this loss of inter-level information, we associate with every Lowen fuzzy topological space (X,S)...
