Abstract
This study presents a sector-specific macroeconomic analysis of globalization’s impact on India, focusing on Defense, Primary, Secondary & Tertiary, Energy, and Finance/FDI sectors. While globalization fosters foreign investment, market access, and technological growth, it also brings risks like over-dependence, trade imbalances, and strategic vulnerabilities. Existing studies largely emphasize GDP growth, FDI inflows, and employment trends but often overlook sector-level structural changes, policy shifts, and long-term implications. This research contributes to filling that gap by examining sector-specific transformations and broader patterns, especially amid rising deglobalization trends. Using a mixed-methods approach—combining descriptive and empirical tools like correlation and regression—the study highlights the need for nuanced policymaking. Key recommendations include strengthening regulatory frameworks, fostering self-reliance in critical sectors, and diversifying global partnerships. By offering sectoral insights and strategic directions, this paper supports more inclusive and sustainable economic development, addressing both the benefits and vulnerabilities globalization presents in India’s evolving macroeconomic landscape.
