Fabrication of a COF-Ag composite-enabled electrochemical sensing platform for sensitive rutin detection.
Abstract
The push toward innovative electrochemical platforms is indispensable for mitigating the environmental burden while sustaining high-performance sensing ability. In this work, an Ag nanoparticle (NP)-modified covalent organic framework (COF) nanocomposite was successfully fabricated and further used to construct an electrochemical sensor for rutin detection. The synergistic interplay between Ag NPs and COFs significantly boosts electrochemical performance on account of the abundant redox-active centers, superior conductivity and rapid electron transfer rates. This prepared sensor demonstrated a wide concentration linearity of 0.01-40 µM with a low limit of detection of 8.9 nM. Moreover, it displayed satisfactory repeatability, reproducibility, and stability, together with strong anti-interference capability. The feasibility of this sensing platform for analytical applications was demonstrated by the detection of rutin in honey, apple juice and tomato juice with satisfactory recoveries, highlighting its potential for convenient, fast and efficient field testing.
