Abstract

Rapid expansion of the fashion technology industry has given rise to patent infringements, counterfeit products, and unauthorized ownership manipulation. The existing IP protection mechanisms have drawbacks of transparency, central control, delayed verification, and lack of traceability. To overcome these problems, a blockchain-based intellectual property system was suggested which can provide secure patent registration, validation of ownership and monitoring of patent infringement. The system incorporated smart contracts, distributed ledger technology, cryptographic hashing, and decentralized access control to create a system that is tamper-proof and ensures patent management. Mechanisms allowing real-time monitoring to detect counterfeit patent activities and unauthorized modifications were included. Various metrics such as transaction validation accuracy, counterfeit detection rate and the security of the encryption were used for experimental evaluation. The proposed system, validates the transactions with 98.1% accuracy, verifies the ownership of transactions with 96.4% efficiency, provides 97.8% encryption security, and detects the counterfeit transactions with 95.5% accuracy. The results achieved proved to be more transparent, secure ownership information, less error rates and assured patent traceability. The framework has been significantly beneficial in boosting the protection of intellectual property and secure management of patents in the Indian fashion technology ecosystem.
