Unsteady MHD Flow of Rivlin-Ericksen Fluid Past an Infinite Vertical Porous Plate with Heat Absorption Effect
Abstract
This study examines the unsteady magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) convective flow of an incompressible, viscous, electrically conducting Rivlin–Ericksen fluid past a semi-infinite, perpendicular, porous moving plate, with consideration of heat absorption. The plate is assumed to move at a constant velocity in the direction of the fluid flow, while the free stream velocity is modeled to follow an exponentially increasing small perturbation law. Time-dependent wall suction is considered at the permeable surface. The dimensionless governing equations for this analysis are solved analytically using two-term harmonic and non-harmonic functions. The analytical results obtained are shown to reduce to previously published results for a special case of the problem. Numerical evaluation of these analytical results is conducted, and graphical representations of the velocity and temperature profiles within the boundary layer are provided. Additionally, the skin-friction coefficient and Nusselt numbers are discussed with the aid of graphs. Keywords: Hall effects, MHD flows, Rivlin-Ericksen fluid, porous medium and unsteady flows
