STUDY OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE TURBOSHAFT ENGINE SURGE PROCESS
Abstract
Background. The article discusses the phenomenon of turboshaft engine surge. One of the reasons for the occurrence of surge is the insufficient response speed of the protection systems for timely suppression of presurge state signs. The search for solutions to the problem of increasing the speed of response is currently relevant. Materials and methods. The physical quantities determining the engine operating mode are considered and the parameters that can be used as an information sign about the pre-surge state of the engine are identified. An analysis of works devoted to modern surge protection systems is conducted. The problem of their speed of action is considered. Results. Ways to improve the performance of surge protection systems are shown. Conclusions. The solution to the problem of safe operation of turboshaft engines must be sought in the practical plane of engineering developments.
