Enhancing Reuse Productivity in Asset and Product Engineering: A Structural and Domain Variability Approach

Oct 2026 · Engineering, Technology & Applied Science Research · 0 citations · 3 references

Abstract

Software system reuse engineering has become a mainstream strategy for accelerating development and improving productivity. Its core methodologies—namely Asset Engineering For and By Reuse (AEFBR) and Product Engineering For and By Reuse (PEFBR)—are based on the synergy between Software Product Lines (SPL) and software reuse principles. However, in highly complex fields such as embedded systems, existing instantiation processes limit application scalability. To address this issue, the present study proposes a novel predictive approach that generates Potential Reusable Systems (PRS). By analyzing the structural relationships of existing assets against evolving domain requirements and variabilities, the proposed method dynamically predicts and produces viable systems for future reuse spaces, thereby significantly improving development productivity.
