Chromosome-level assemblies of complementary haploid genomes and population resequencing for the saprotrophic bolete Buchwaldoboletus xylophilus
Abstract
Buchwaldoboletus xylophilus is a rare, non-ectomycorrhizal bolete with a saprotrophic lifestyle. Here we present reference genome assemblies for two compatible haploid strains (B06 and B07) derived from a cultivated fruiting body, together with Illumina resequencing and draft assemblies for a population set of 17 isolates comprising seven monokaryons and ten dikaryons. The submitted B06 and B07 assemblies are 30.69 Mb and 30.49 Mb, respectively, each containing 13 chromosome-sized sequences, with basidiomycota_odb12 BUSCO completeness of 97.7% and 97.9% and sample-specific Merqury QV values of 51.10 and 57.17. The resource includes structural and functional annotations, repeat annotations, mating-type-locus candidates, and CAZyme predictions. Raw reads are available through NCBI SRA under study accession SRP689425; assemblies are available through NCBI GenBank and NGDC/GWH; and annotation files and supporting results are available through Figshare.
