ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND WAREHOUSING: A STUDY FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF LOGISTICS SECTOR PUBLICATIONS
Abstract
This study aims to analyze how artificial intelligence (AI) has been applied to warehousing, based on articles published in specialized logistics magazines. The survey identified that AI is being used to automate processes, forecast demand, optimize inventory, and increase operational efficiency in distribution centers. Technologies such as robotics, predictive algorithms, and computer vision systems were recurring topics in the analyzed articles. In addition to advancements, the texts highlight challenges related to technological infrastructure, workforce training, and integration with legacy systems. Nevertheless, the observed trend is that AI is becoming a central element in the competitiveness of logistics companies. Rather than replacing humans, AI has been presented as an ally in decision-making, contributing to agility and accuracy in operations. It is concluded that the application of artificial intelligence in warehousing represents an ongoing strategic and technological transformation. As barriers such as cost and resistance to innovation are overcome, AI tends to become an indispensable tool in modern logistics.
