Prediction Models for Stroke-Associated Sarcopenia: A Scoping Review

Oct 2026 · Open Science Framework
Nutrition and Health in Aging

Abstract

Background and Purpose: To systematically map the study designs, model development methods, predictive performance, and predictors of risk prediction models for sarcopenia in stroke patients, and to identify current research status, gaps, and future directions in this field. Methods: This review followed the Arksey and O'Malley five-stage framework. Nine databases (PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Embase, CINAHL, CNKI, Wanfang, VIP and SinoMed) were searched from inception to October 2025. Two reviewers independently screened and extracted data using a form based on the JBI Manual, with methodological classification guided by the Transparent Reporting of a multivariable prediction model for Individual Prognosis Or Diagnosis (TRIPOD) statement. A narrative synthesis approach was adopted. Expected/Actual Outcomes:The review provides a comprehensive overview of the heterogeneity in SAS definitions and sarcopenia diagnostic criteria across studies. These findings highlight the need for standardized criteria in future stroke-related sarcopenia research and may inform clinical screening and intervention strategies. Registration Note: This is a retrospective registration.

The impact of agile practices on communication in software development

The study shows that agile practices improve both informal and formal communication, but indicates that, in larger development situations involving multiple external stakeholders, a mismatch of adequate communication mechanisms can sometimes even hinder the communication.

Trajectory Balance: Improved Credit Assignment in GFlowNets

It is proved that any global minimizer of the trajectory balance objective can define a policy that samples exactly from the target distribution, and empirically demonstrate the benefits of the trajectories balance objective for GFlowNet convergence, diversity of generated samples, and robustness to long action sequenc...
