Digital Workplace Analytics for Employee Mental Health Assessment
Abstract
Mental health in the workplace has become a growing global concern, particularly within high-pressure industries such as technology. According to the World Health Organization, mental disorders such as depression and anxiety result in economic losses amounting to nearly USD 1 trillion annually. This study aims to identify and analyze the factors that influence employees' mental health in work environments by utilizing a publicly available dataset on workplace mental health. Through descriptive and exploratory data analysis, several key factors are identified, including workload, working hours, organizational support, and stigma surrounding mental health issues. The findings suggest that lack of institutional support, prolonged work hours, and fear of negative judgment significantly contribute to the deterioration of employee mental well-being. This study highlights the importance of developing inclusive policies and mental health-friendly cultures, especially in the technology sector, to promote psychological well-being and organizational sustainability.
