Serum SAMD9 as a Potential Prognostic Biomarker for Pancreatic Cancer
Abstract
Simple Summary Pancreatic cancer remains one of the deadliest malignancies, and effective biomarkers for its detection and prognosis are still lacking. In this study, SAMD9 was consistently overexpressed in pancreatic cancer tissues and was associated with poor patient outcomes. Analyses of public datasets showed that SAMD9 expression had diagnostic and prognostic value in pancreatic cancer. However, validation in clinical serum samples showed that serum SAMD9 had only limited diagnostic performance, although it remained associated with patient prognosis. Overall, these findings support the potential prognostic relevance of SAMD9, while the diagnostic utility of serum SAMD9 requires further validation.
