The complete mitochondrial genome of Rhynocoris altaicus Kiritshenko, 1926, a predatory assassin bug distributed in the eastern Palearctic that feeds mainly on lepidopteran pests, provides molecular data for taxonomy, phylogenetics, and conservation of Reduviidae.

Abstract

Abstract In this study, we assembled and characterized the complete mitochondrial genome of Rhynocoris altaicus Kiritshenko, 1926, a predatory assassin bug distributed in the eastern Palearctic that feeds mainly on lepidopteran pests. The circular mitogenome is 16,177 bp with 70.20% A+T, comprising the typical set of 37 mitochondrial genes (13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNAs, and two ribosomal RNAs), and a 1326 bp D-loop. Phylogenetic analysis based on 13 PCGs recovered Rhynocoris as sister to Sphedanolestes within Harpactorinae. The mitogenome has been deposited in GenBank as PQ613804. It provides molecular data for taxonomy, phylogenetics, and conservation of Reduviidae.

First report of the complete mitochondrial genome of Microtendipes famiefeus Sasa, 1996 (Diptera: Chironomidae)

Abstract The complete mitochondrial genome of Microtendipes famiefeus was sequenced in this study. The circular mitogenome is 16,034 bp and comprises 13 protein-coding genes, 22 tRNAs, two rRNAs, and one control region. The mitogenome exhibits a strong A + T bias (76.4%) and a conserved gene arrangement of Chironomidae...

The complete mitochondrial genome and phylogenetic position of Orthaga aenescens Moore, 1888 (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae)

Phylogenetic analysis suggests that among the sequenced Pyralidae mitochondrial genomes, O. aenescens is most closely related to O. euadrusalis and Locastra muscosalis, supporting its placement within the subfamily Epipaschiinae.

The complete mitochondrial genome of Neoporphyra hollenbergii (E. Y. Dawson) L.-E. Yang & J. Brodie, an endemic species from the Gulf of California, Mexico

Abstract Neoporphyra hollenbergii is an endemic red alga from the Gulf of California, a region with notable cryptic diversity. We report its first complete mitochondrial genome and the first Bangiales mitogenome from the region. The circular mitogenome measures 31,565 bp (30.6% GC) and contains 50 genes, including 22 p...

The complete mitochondrial genome of Reptalus artemisiae (Becker, 1865) (Hemiptera: Cixiidae)

Abstract Reptalus artemisiae (Becker, 1865) is a vector of economically important plant pathogens. To date, no complete mitochondrial genome has been available for Pentastirini. We present the first complete mitogenome of R. artemisiae, sequenced using ONT MinION long reads. The circular genome is 15,476 bp long, compr...

Complete mitogenome and phylogenetic analysis of the tertiary relict shrub Platycrater arguta (Hydrangeaceae)

Abstract Platycrater arguta Siebold & Zucc., is a monotypic Hydrangeaceae genus, yet its mitogenomic information remains limited. We assembled its mitogenome from PacBio HiFi reads: 435,757 bp (45.76% GC), containing 66 genes (36 protein-coding, 27 tRNA, 3 rRNA). Complex trans-splicing introns occurred in nad1, nad2 an...
