Abstract

Background. The article examines the current problem of rapid updating of topographic plans at a scale of 1 : 500 in conditions of an urgent need for rapid updating of geospatial data for the needs of engineering and cadastre. The use of traditional methods of ground surveying often turns out to be ineffective due to high labor intensity. The integration of modern unmanned systems into the workflow ensures the generation of detailed orthophoto maps with ultra-high resolution. The purpose of the study is to substantiate and develop practical recommendations for the use of modern topographic field aerial survey complexes for updating large-scale terrain plans. Methods. Modern topographic complexes DJI Inspire 2 and specialized P316 systems were used to conduct the study. The research methodology is based on a complex combination of advanced photogrammetric processing of image data in the Pix4Dmatic environment and subsequent vectorization of objects in ArcGIS Pro. Special attention is paid to the use of high-precision positioning technologies Real Time Kinematic and Post-Processed Kinematic for determining coordinates of the ground control points (GCPs). This approach makes it possible to ensure strict adherence to geometric parameters when building digital terrain models and to automate the process of creating a topographic database. Results. During the study, optimal technical parameters of aerial photography and digital data processing algorithms were established, allowing to stably achieve the root mean square error of the position of objects within 0.05 m. The study demonstrates the significant advantages of modern specialized software in substantially increasing the overall productivity of surveying professionals. It is experimentally proven that the use of the Pix4Dmatic and ArcGIS Pro combination allows to significantly reduce the time for office-based processing, while ensuring a high level of detail and accuracy required for 1 : 500 scale plans. Conclusions. A comprehensive technological scheme for updating plans has been proposed and tested, which ensures high accuracy of the results obtained and significantly reduces the time for performing office work due to a high degree of automation of the main processes. The implementation of the methodology based on modern topographic field aerial survey systems allows minimizing the impact of the human factor and optimizing resource requirements when creating large-scale cartographic products. The practical application of the developed recommendations confirmed their effectiveness for operational territory monitoring, which is critically important for updating geospatial databases in modern conditions.
