Towards IoT-Enabled Resilience: A Smart Governance Model for Bromo-Tengger via Monitoring and Sentiment Analysis to Develop Tourism Ecosystems
Abstract
Bromo-Tengger experiences interrelated governance pressures: overtourism, carrying capacity of the natural environment, visitor security, representation of local culture and digital reputation. This paper abbreviates and reworks the full paper in a conference paper format by proposing a Smart-Culture Tourism Governance model combining IoT based visitor-flow monitoring, sentiment analytics of digital user generated contents and stakeholder participative decision making process. The research uses a mixed-methods design based on Design Thinking principles, involving cultural mapping, stakeholder interviews, field observation, visitor-flow mapping, digital content analysis, collaborative design workshops and expert consultation. The proposed model presents technologies not as a replacement for the existing indigenous governance, but as decision-support mechanisms to assist the indigenous leaders of Tenggerese tribe, Pokdarwis, jeep community, tourism business owners and government officials in their decision making processes. The findings contribute by linking physical intelligence, digital sentiment intelligence and cultural intelligence to enable the establishment of a resilient tourism ecosystem for sensitive cultural destinations.
