A human intelligence nursing education policy guide: Three standards for the complementary-ethical use of artificial intelligence.
Abstract
Background
Nursing educators have the responsibility to ensure human caring, the heart and soul of Professional Nursing, is preserved and evolves against pervasive technology supremacy.
Purpose
This paper offers a Human Intelligence (HI) Nursing Education Policy Guide for ethical complementary use of artificial intelligence (AI).
Method
Scholarly discourse using Unitary Caring Science underpinning the disciplinary framework for HI, strengthened by Watson's 10 Caritas Processes.
Discussion
This Policy Guide provides a complementary, discipline-specific, HI answer to AI's potential ascendancy in Nursing Education. This HI Nursing Education Policy Guide encompasses three standards for AI use: Ontological/Ethical; Epistemological/Empirical; and Methodological/Praxis.
Conclusion
Collectively, these three HI discipline-specific standards hold promise as guides to sustaining HI in nursing education.
