To manage residues from various marine brown algae (Sargassum spp.) accumulated as environmental liabilities on Mexican beaches, the optimal conditions for bioethanol production were determined. For this purpose, primary fermentation was carried out using Saccharomyces spp., using the algae as a carbon source. Subseque...

Naringinase is an industrially important enzyme widely used in food, pharmaceutical, and biotechnological applications, particularly for citrus juice debittering. In the present study, naringinase production by Bacillus megaterium CP026736 was optimized under solid-state fermentation (SSF) using rice bran as a low-cost...

Carboxypeptidase Y (CPDY) production by
Kluyveromyces marxianus
is typically limited by ethanol accumulation, which inhibits enzyme yield. In this study, this challenge was addressed by co-cultivating
K. marxianus
with
Saccharomyces cerevisiae
to scavenge ethanol and thus enhance CPDY production. CPDY is an ind...

Background: Bioethanol is gaining prominence as an eco-friendly alternative to fossil fuels, offering the potential to combat global warming and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This study explores microalgae, specifically Spirogyra from Ajiwa Dam of Katsina State, Nigeria, as a third-generation biomass for bioethanol...

Mannitol is widely utilised in the food and pharmaceutical industries. Current commercial production primarily depends on chemical synthesis, a process that is expensive, environmentally detrimental, and requires high-temperature/pressure as well as complex purification steps. While microbial production of mannitol has...
