Abstract

This dataset contains the numerical results supporting the figures and tables in "Numerical phase errors in broadband simulations of lightning electromagnetic fields over lossy ground" by Ye Tian, Yuanyuan Xie, Xueqi Sun, and Lihua Zhang. The study evaluates numerical phase errors and electromagnetic propagation for a prescribed lightning return-stroke current above flat, homogeneous ground over 1-450 kHz. The collection includes complex field-transfer responses, frequency and range coordinates, reliability masks and excluded-sample classifications, amplitude and phase comparisons with reference calculations, relative propagation and group-delay results, band-limited periodic waveforms, directly driven Heidler-current records, boundary-energy diagnostics, numerical configurations, and rational surface-admittance coefficients. The files support seven main figures, seven supplementary figures, and the manuscript and supporting-information tables. Data are provided in CSV, NPZ, and JSON formats, with documentation, provenance information, and SHA-256 checksums. CSV files use UTF-8 with BOM and ASCII labels. NPZ files preserve numerical arrays, including complex-valued responses and multidimensional masks. The README, data dictionary, and figure and table maps describe variables, units, sampling coordinates, and eligibility criteria. The companion plotting-code collection renders the figures from these saved data. This dataset supports inspection of the reported results and reproduction of the figures; the FDTD solver, reference-integration routines, and scientific-analysis implementations are outside this collection. This work was supported by the Beijing Natural Science Foundation under Grant 8252020.

The impact of agile practices on communication in software development

The study shows that agile practices improve both informal and formal communication, but indicates that, in larger development situations involving multiple external stakeholders, a mismatch of adequate communication mechanisms can sometimes even hinder the communication.

Trajectory Balance: Improved Credit Assignment in GFlowNets

It is proved that any global minimizer of the trajectory balance objective can define a policy that samples exactly from the target distribution, and empirically demonstrate the benefits of the trajectories balance objective for GFlowNet convergence, diversity of generated samples, and robustness to long action sequenc...
