Abstract

Data, code and figures supporting the article "The Observer Inside a Reorganized System: A Perspective on Reference States and Formation History in Rotating Matter" by Seongwon Choi (submitted to Foundations of Science). The record contains: (1) Python scripts reproducing the Maclaurin sensitivities, the planetary flattening ratios and the exact viscous spin-up solution in a rotating cylinder; (2) scripts for the rotating cylinder pushed to its limits of height, width and speed, including the free surface during spin-up, clock rates on the floor and on the free surface, the light cylinder, the curvature of co-rotating space and the exposed-floor case; (3) a pipeline that rebuilds the Geotail distant-magnetotail transition analysis from the public CDAWeb key-parameter files GE_K0_MGF and GE_K0_LEP, with a verification script; (4) the Geotail analysis products (selected transitions, step-score profiles, bin-width summary); and (5) the figures of the article. See README.md for the mapping between files and the tables and figures of the article, and for instructions. Data, figures and text: CC BY 4.0. Code: MIT License (LICENSE).

The impact of agile practices on communication in software development

The study shows that agile practices improve both informal and formal communication, but indicates that, in larger development situations involving multiple external stakeholders, a mismatch of adequate communication mechanisms can sometimes even hinder the communication.

Trajectory Balance: Improved Credit Assignment in GFlowNets

It is proved that any global minimizer of the trajectory balance objective can define a policy that samples exactly from the target distribution, and empirically demonstrate the benefits of the trajectories balance objective for GFlowNet convergence, diversity of generated samples, and robustness to long action sequenc...
