Abstract

Objective: The objective of the present study is to expand upon ranged data sets in Strauss et al. (2006) and Tombaugh (2004). This is done by using a larger data set (N=311) and offering specific data year by year for ages 15-19 for both Trail Making Test A and B (TMT-A & TMT-B) . Method/Data Selection: A convenience sample of data from 311 individuals seen in an outpatient neuropsychological practice from 2020-2025 (n=311, female=150, male=161) aged 15-19 was used. Data collected include age, sex, TMT-A and TMT-B raw scores, Full Scale Intelligence Quotient (FSIQ), and any significant diagnoses (i.e., borderline intellectual functioning and intellectual disability). Exclusion criteria included visual impairment and malingering. Results/Data Synthesis: The results of the present study offer 3 normative data sets operating within the exclusion criteria as well as 3 supplementary tables that exclude individuals who discontinued on either TMT-A or TMT-B before completion. Conclusions: The present study has created normative data sets of individuals aged 15-19 for the TMT. Future studies may choose to further build upon these results by evaluating the norms in accordance with the seven guidelines set forth by Mitrushina et al. (2005). Additional testing is not viewed as necessary for implementation of the presented data. In most circumstances, use of the normative data in Table 5 is recommended.
