STRUCTURE AND DEVELOPMENT PROSPECTS OF THE AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR MARKET
Abstract
The current state of the global aircraft maintenance and repair market, a critical segment that ensures the functioning of the global air transport industry, is explored. This market analysis identifies key issues and structural constraints in the supply chains for aircraft and equipment. Technological advances enable faster and higher-quality maintenance, increasing fleet availability and reducing airline operating costs. Timely access to serviceable spare parts is particularly important to maintain aircraft airworthiness and prevent unnecessary aircraft downtime. Methods: The theoretical and methodological basis of the study is based on the general scientific principles of a systems approach, methods of classification, analysis and synthesis, and induction and deduction. The study utilizes tools from industry market theory, statistical analysis of industry data, comparative analysis of market segments, and content analysis of reports from leading analytical agencies. A positivist approach was applied to the analysis of empirical data on price dynamics, repair times, and cost structure. Results: The factors destabilizing supply chains in the global aerospace market are systematized. The relationships between structural imbalances in the new aircraft market and the transformation of the aftersales service segments for aviation equipment are substantiated. Practical Relevance: The structure of the aircraft maintenance and repair market does not match the growing demand for air travel. As a result, airline efficiency is declining. The study's results can be used by airlines in developing fleet management plans and planning maintenance and repair costs, as well as by maintenance companies in developing capacity development programs and supply chain optimization.
